Painter & Printmaker

Born in Eastbourne, England, 1959, Chris Tunwell studied Foundation in Art at Brighton University (1977-1978) and  BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Trent University (1978-1981). His critical realist style, developed through the late 70's and 1980's, reflects the social issues and every day life of his surroundings. The 1980's saw the development of the touring exhibition The Critical Eye and  Chris was also an "Artist in Residence" both at the Boot's Factory, Nottingham, and at the Royal Chesterfield Hospital. In 1988, Chris moved to Spain, spending 8 years in Madrid before moving to Brazil in 1996.
The artist is currently based in São Paulo.
